Welcome

Welcome
On June 1, 2010, the 173d Airborne Brigade National Memorial will be dedicated at the National Infantry Museum’s Parade Ground. This singular event will bring Sky Soldiers and their families from around this country and Down Under to honor, remember, reflect, and renew the bonds of fellowship and community born of service in the ranks of the Herd.
Veterans, active duty Sky Soldiers, and families will join with Gold Star families to honor the Brigade, its heritage and contributions to the nation, and the supreme sacrifices of those who fell in combat. The dedication ceremony in Columbus/Fort Benning precedes by one day the annual Reunion, held this year in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
To help with the logistics for this event, a Dedication Transportation Group has been formed. It is independent of the Memorial Foundation and the Brigade Association. Terry Modglin, a Herd Officer 1970-71 organized this effort as a service to facilitate major transportation needs of attendees, including

  • ” travel from Atlanta (the nearest major airport with low-cost fares) to Columbus (and return);
  • from Columbus to North Myrtle Beach for those wishing to attend the 2010 Reunion; and
  • from select hotels to the dedication itself and returning to those hotels. The Dedication Transportation Group is offering to help facilitate the coordination of hotels so that Sky Soldiers and others can stay with their unit groups, if they so desire.

Here is how to get more information:
